Why did they have to do this? Like, what part of a change in art style caused Bioware to change dwarven women from stocky and well built women to tiny and dainty girls? Seeing as I loved playing dwarves in DAO, (usually more male than female because something about a Morrigan romance for a dwarf hits me in all the right ways, but a fair number of dwarven female ones too) this really bothers me. They're way shorter and thinner and way more petite than they ever were in DAO. In DAI, they're build more like children with boobs than they are like women. Like, in DAO, dwarven women were stocky, thick, build strong even if they were a bit softer than the men. Like, I can see a female dwarf making a good warrior in DAO, whereas in DAI that same dwarf would look like a strong breeze could blow her over.
